She and Mel had an emotional night. She wasn't sure how they had come upon it, but he had decided before they went any further she deserved to know some dark secrets about him. They turned out to not be dark so much as unfortunate circumstances he'd been faced with in his past. He was clearly torn up over them though, but she said that she understood and didn't think any less of him because of it.
They were a little drunk, and she told him that she did like him, and that if he wanted to be exclusive, she would be for him. He told her that her being with other people took the pressure off him, even though he wasn't seeing anyone else. "If you ever feel differently let me know, okay?" She asked him. Mel nodded.
The next day she got a text from Theo. He was going to ask the other girl to be his girlfriend. She immediately texted back that she was happy for him, which she was. Wholeheartedly. Mel had been there for her when Theo just let her fall to the wayside. This was the way things should be.
She told him she felt him pulling away and it was okay, she was glad that he was happy.
"I wasn't trying to pull away seemed like you got busy honestly but you're too special to me I still want to talk to you and hang out."
Then he said he wasn't going to ask her to be his girlfriend right away, and she knew that he was playing games with her. He wanted her to say don't do it. He was being manipulative. She was even more glad to be rid of him, but still stayed diplomatic. He did not. He fucked with her time and kept rescheduling their last date until she told him to forget the whole thing. Good riddance and good luck to the new girlfriend. She was sure going to need. it.

Tell Me You Love Me
Her borrowed HBOGo account was acting up again, so she decided to delete the app from her kindle and re-upload. She clicked on a random title to see if that had fixed the issue, and found herself watching all 10 episodes of Tell Me You Love Me from 2007.
Parts hurt her heart because they reminded her of her marriage, and how easily these couples seemed to get into therapy and be open and honest with each other. How they seemed to evolve, devolve, change. Not stay the same for 10 years.
She also thought a lot about KSL and the potential relationship. After their conversation, she felt stretched, distanced from him. She invited him over on Friday, he had not shown up. Saturday she texted him asking if he was going to the Improv show, because she was working front of house and could put him and his girlfriend on the list. "Not this week it seems. Sorry" he texted back.
"No worries, just didn't want to save seats if it wasn't necessary." She texted, then set her phone down and got ready to leave. She saw two texts from him later when she picked up her phone to leave her studio, about 45 minutes apart. The latter was the "afterthought message." The reaching out and trying to reconnect text. Five minutes later she just texted "Thanks" and went about her night.
The afterthought message had become his only "tell" that he cared after that night she moved into her studio. They had dubbed their first kiss "The birthday kiss" but they had yet to put a title to what happened that night. It was hard to believe that the birthday kiss had only happened a little over a month ago, it seemed like a lifetime.
Their whole relationship had seemed like a lifetime. Things had gotten intense so quickly. To gain some perspective, she went over his tag in the blog, looking for clues. Overarching ideas. Reading through everything cleared nothing up for her. They were both equally wrong and right for each other. Even in all the reading she did about their Myers-Briggs types, their relationship was almost textbook. She knew from her reading that all INFJs have a sort of fascination with ENFJs. Of course, she couldn't find out how ENFJs felt about INFJs...the missing piece.
He said he didn't know. Much as she tried to suss it out...neither did she. She felt stuck on the steps of the palace.

Six Things Away from being Amazing
"I found the perfect pre-show music for the play!" KSL said to her, dropping his trademark backpack on the floor. He told her the name and explained they didn't have an album yet but their songs were very 80's, and for kids who didn't really remember the 80's."
"So, us?" She asked with a smile. He returned the smirk with one of his own.
"Pretty much, yeah. Hey what is this?" He touched her necklace. "Is it a wishbone? It's cute...here." he reached out and turned it around so that the clasp was on the back of her neck.
"Thanks, it's a rental. It's going back, clearly if it can't stay still." She touched the wishbone to her own collarbone.
"A rental? That one of those silly girl boxes that your type get?" His face was filled with fake disdain.
"I have to up the ante at work. The shirt is from the same place."
"I like it, it's cute. What's the brand?"
"I'm not sure."
"Come here," he grabbed her wrist gently and spun her around to check her tag. "Summer and Sage...never heard of it. Looks good on you though. It's nice."
It was as close to a compliment that she was going to get with their relationship, which was like brother and sister, only with a bunch of harmless flirting inbetween. Although they were both a little sexually frustrated at the moment due to two different issues in their respective relationships.
Later he approached her and gently moved the clasp back behind her neck again, brushing up against her ponytail for a brief second. Their eyes met...then he booped her nose.
It was a fine line to walk, but she was sure she would keep her balance.
Later she sent him a text:
"I listened to Runaway. You are right, it's so perfectly 80's, I love it."
